it feels good to get lost in the different towns of florida, as each one has a new feeling.  my favorite place to go has been delray beach. it’s very laid back with pastel key west style homes and known for it’s atlantic avenue with beautiful shops and delicious restaurants. i keep coming back to two places in particular: dada‘s (pictured above) for their ambiance of a cozy house turned into a restaurant/bar and sitting outside in their large frontyard decorated with christmas lights and lanterns under beautiful big trees, feeling the tropical breeze while having a fresh blackberry mojito, enjoying grilled brie made with honey garlic butter and listening to great music like billie holliday; then there’s vic & angelos (pictured below), a new york city italian style restaurant known for their retro meets modern decor, beautiful gorgonzola wedge and mozzarella red-vine tomato salads, incredible parmesan french fries, and the best double organic prime grass-fed burgers you’ve ever had.

in music news, deerhunter is coming out with their fourth studio album *halcyon digest* on september 28, 2010. being a fan of all that the multi-talented bradford cox creates, this new work is sure to please the masses. their single “helicopters” showcases how dreamy and delicate sounding the efforts of this athens, georgia indie rock band have chosen to go in. please enjoy!

About The Author

“One glimpse is all it takes to tell you that Music Is Art is something special. You can start by judging this blog by its cover—it’s one of the best-designed, most aesthetically aware music blogs around—but there’s much more to it than just a pretty template. For one, Danielle, the “dreamer/designer” behind MIA, focuses not only on excellent music, but on art, photography and writing and how they all intersect and inform the music. By sharing the sounds and sights that inspire her, she’s inspiring a growing number of readers on a daily basis. By documenting artists’ creative processes, she’s, in the process, creating a pretty substantial, always-evolving work of art herself.” - Nerd Litter
