LOVAGE is part of mike patton’s 20 projects [faith no more, mr. bungle, fantomas].

with a lil help from patton’s friends nathaniel merriweather [handsome boy modeling school], jennifer charles [elysian fields] & kid koala, the album music to make love to yr old lady by is everything that its title represents and more.

together they have collaborated on something special that must be taken in slowly with an open-mind. many of the songs are charming charicatures of 1950s black & white sultriness – and give clever commentaries on alfred hitchcock films. the resulting vocal/lounge laments may be too smooth for some, but those with a sense of humor and a love of well-produced downtempo sounds will understand.

all i can do is think about being around friends
and smiling to this ~*~

oh i think we’re going faster
from the mountains to the pasture
just look at that scenery
its lovely

songs: everyone has a summer, strangers on a train

About The Author

“One glimpse is all it takes to tell you that Music Is Art is something special. You can start by judging this blog by its cover—it’s one of the best-designed, most aesthetically aware music blogs around—but there’s much more to it than just a pretty template. For one, Danielle, the “dreamer/designer” behind MIA, focuses not only on excellent music, but on art, photography and writing and how they all intersect and inform the music. By sharing the sounds and sights that inspire her, she’s inspiring a growing number of readers on a daily basis. By documenting artists’ creative processes, she’s, in the process, creating a pretty substantial, always-evolving work of art herself.” - Nerd Litter
