Ms. Lauryn Hill has created a rough edit of a song titled “Black Rage” in response to the events in Ferguson, Missiouri. By taking the fairytale like melody and lyrics of Julie Andrew’s The Sound of Music from the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic “My Favorite Things,” Lauryn Hill maintains her own version turning Black Rage into a mix of recognizing everything that has felt surreal within the news over the past few weeks and strategizing an understanding to cope with a sense of realism.
An old sketch of Black Rage, done in my living room. Strange, the course of things. Peace for MO. – MLH
