After a difficult band breakup and moments before getting ready to go into the studio with producer Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene’s You Forgot it In People), three remaining members (Nate Eiesland, Alissa Ricci, and Ryne Estwing) decided to pick up the remaining pieces wisely, taking organic elements of what they were from the Chicago-based band Scattered Trees, and hauntingly turning themselves into a blend of infectious, and synthetic sounds in their new collaboration, On An On. Their debut EP Give In is the outcome of what beautifully transpired during that time, and is available to be heard now. On An On are currently on tour finishing a round of dates in North America with Savoir Adore, then over to Europe for the next few weeks, and finally will be back on a new tour supporting Jose Gonzalez’ side project Junip.

There are spirits
coming to find me
they’re not stopping
until it’s done
and I can feel them
taking me over

About The Author

“One glimpse is all it takes to tell you that Music Is Art is something special. You can start by judging this blog by its cover—it’s one of the best-designed, most aesthetically aware music blogs around—but there’s much more to it than just a pretty template. For one, Danielle, the “dreamer/designer” behind MIA, focuses not only on excellent music, but on art, photography and writing and how they all intersect and inform the music. By sharing the sounds and sights that inspire her, she’s inspiring a growing number of readers on a daily basis. By documenting artists’ creative processes, she’s, in the process, creating a pretty substantial, always-evolving work of art herself.” - Nerd Litter
