For years, depression has been seen as something imaginary by the world. Some believe if they are sad, that it’s easy to get over. Most don’t understand that pain is real. Only those that are strong enough to admit that depression is something that they have struggled through, realize that it takes a lot more than trying to forget what you’re feeling.
It’s a honest discussion to be a part of. There’s many levels of trial and tribulations. It can take years to discover why you feel the way you do. It can take decades of therapy to discover how to better yourself. The tears, mood swings and anger all become a part of baby steps. Those that challenge their own sincerity, find similarities in their own desires of why they choose toxic friends, lovers, family members. Understanding why one thinks they deserve them becomes the hardest part. Depression is a life altering force that either completely takes over to destroy or makes a heart become so strong that no one can even come close to touch. As the objection lands, the only way to get through is to believe that life does get better, that there are good people out there, and many exciting brand new adventures waiting behind the door…

One of the most difficult things in life is to realize that you don’t have anybody but yourself in this world. Toxic family and friends will need to come and go… but who you remain to your own heart is the only thing that you can’t give up on. If you are lucky though, it will be easy to realize that this feeling can come on quite strongly, and may honestly be able to decide who is best to keep in your world. In order to hold on, it’s best to remember a few things:
1. Don’t ever keep someone in your life that abuses you in any shape or form of physical, mental or verbal altercations. Once is too much, twice and it begins to happen again, three times and you begin to forget who you are. It’s too easy and too disastrous of all toxic situations.
2. Forget it if they are an old friend, you’ll find another. However when it comes to family members, your own precious blood, that becomes even more trickier. To let go or not to let go? The question should only linger a moment until a reason enlightens to why they are not worth it. Keep with it, you’ll eventually learn to see why you’re seeing this light in the first place.
3. Most importantly, if letting go of a toxic person in your life frightens you, first test out your boundaries to see if things can be worked out amicably. Usually a toxic person will not understand where you are coming from as a true friend or family member will fight to the death to save your relationship. When this happens, it is important to learn that it is really their loss as you let go of them, and to know that you’re a stronger and better person for moving on in the long run.

singer island has become my secret and favorite location
a place covered in blue, with luxury condos all along the atlantic shore
known as the beautiful beach pictured on every floridian postcard
most of the balconies overlook right inside the ocean
it’s almost as if your sleeping with the sea
this is where i’m landing
my perfect fantasy

[there is love in you, 2010]

this has been a difficult week after the earthquake in haiti.
when something real happens it makes the whole world stop.
usually people can relate to one another but at this time, it is different.
the united states seem to be doing all in their power to keep it strong.
and you wonder what can you really do? but hope and pray
that things will get better and let those that don’t know
everything will be okay.

a beautiful southern place is calling to me
palm trees, sunshine and soft sand that surrounds the oceans
driving, running, swimming along to the rush, and the sounds
a never-ending vacation of strength, peace and happiness
rediscovering old talents and letting them be heard
as time shifts here, it will all be documented
thank you as always for being there ♥
