bon iver, bon iver…

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Bon Iver’s new record, “Bon Iver, Bon Iver,” is some of the most gentle music to listen to. Whether you have just awoken for the day, or need to fall asleep from the stress and beauty of the night, this album is perfect for needing to fade away. Soft like his originals, Bon Iver always seems to maintain the untouched indie glow. Many acts come close with their sweet sounds but there is a purity in Bon Iver that can forever be relied on. Justin Vernon’s vocals keep a slow pace but harmonize within these higher scales that showcase a simple complexity, with sincere emotion all throughout each song.

…and at once i knew i was not magnificent
strayed above the highway aisle
(jagged vacance, thick with ice)
i could see for miles, miles, miles

“I follow.. I follow you.. deep sea baby”

Wounded Rhymes is the upcoming second studio album by Swedish recording artist Lykke Li. Produced by Peter Bjorn & John’s Bjorn Yttling, the new album is scheduled to be released in Sweden on March 2nd, 2011 by LL Recordings. Known to be a different approach for her music, Wounded Rhymes provides a raw and darker sounding soundtrack to Lykke Li’s life. A second single was released from the album called I Follow Rivers, providing an addictive chorus along with penetrating percussion, swirling notes of organ and hypnotizing guitar lines, sharing a taste full of sensuality.
