31knots :: its a secret society

Monday, May 26th, 2008

after discovering portland’s 31knots (thankyou to sctas), their daytrotter session has truly become a favorite addiction.

corpse & carcass
sanctify
[daytrotter session, 2007]

twisting inside the trio’s complex structure of preacher-like shouting and dissonant lyrics, room-commanding drums, mesmerizing guitar and bass lines, this urgency takes over. to listen for the first time feels like an unexpected climax throughout some of the most intense, bizarre and darkest places ever been to. 31knots sixth full-length album worried well is scheduled to be released on august 19, 2008 through polyvinyl records and an autumn tour is expected to follow. be sure to hear their woxy lounge session and see all the videos.

you are here…

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

recently, london based trio south released their fifth album you are here. produced in such an elegant state of mind by sharing soft orchestration to pure rock, south maintain their dreamy pop sound. catered to be kept on repeat, opening song wasted blends in a mixture of acoustic guitar, piano and horns driven to create a type of hazy escape that keeps you secluded and comforted inside the music.
